Zoology in Cambridge

While Max was having his eyes sucked and burned off (I probably shouldn’t have read the description of surgery on the way down to him having it done) we went to the Zoological Museum to distract ourselves. This was quite difficult actually as I was mentally planning how I was going to run the family and the business when Max had gone blind. I’m nothing if not a worst case scenario girl. Apparently going blind isn’t actually a worst case scenario of laser eye surgery, but I didn’t let that stop me doing any disaster planning 😉

When we got there, the Big Draw on Tour was in residence, so the girls all grabbed clipboards and had a lovely time sketching. I would never have imagined they would have such fun with this actually, it’s testament to our art days that they’ve come on so much.

Scary things.

The marine area really pulled Josie and Maddy’s strings and we spent ages up there. Josie did lots of looking and asking and finding out and some really detailed sketching and Amelie was surprisingly patient too.

Was nice to have Fran with us too.

Must be annoying if you drop this one.

Then we got the call to say Max was done (in less than 90 minutes) and could SEE! So we grabbed lunch, went to collect him and then walked him to the bus. He insisted on the bus. I had said it was a bad idea. You’ll have to wait for eye-installment-the-third to see who was right.
