Old friends

August 8, 2006 by

Today we had old friends round. J&J are some of my very oldest friends, i met J at the same time as Kate and our elder 3 are the same ages almost exactly as their lot. Mr J is now house dad again for the summer and after not managing to catch up for ages and ages (nearly 2 years) today we finally did.

R did an art installation

Everyone posed for an obligatory photo

and J and i chatted about life, the universe and absolutely everything as if we’d seen each other last week not 2 years back, while the kids played like they last saw each other last week… not 2 years back. Amelie and K bonded very impressively too and Josie LOVED J very much indeed.

All of which is exactly what friendship should be about, of course.

The rest of the week is deeply busy; trips to see Charlie and Claire, history day tomorrow and then hosting my niece on friday (bumps permitting) while my sister is induced. Looking forward to seeing Rowan lots, so while i hope for my sisters sake she pops sooner, i kind of hope i get to see Rowan anyway! At least it is cooler now. I hated being pregnant with an October due date in August, which was boiling and sweaty that year, but full on sympathy goes to the overdue woman in a July heatwave 😯

Amelie has now recovered somewhat after lying sobbing on my lap saying “i don’t want to die but i don’t want to go to hospital either” (bless… where does she get it from?) We’ve since got out body books, put away the magnets, had cuddles and giggled about putting magnets in the toilet to see if we can make a poo wobble. See, education everywhere 😆

Just to prove what a small place the internet is, i’ve just had an email via my local Freecycle list from someone who has heard of me via Trog on Hunnybeez. Amazing.

Wonder what we’ll do tomorrow? Really ought to finish the dining room, which is still needing to be comprehensively sorted. Maybe we’ll finish that felting project, could be very therapeutic. 😆

Love the art installation – is it edible art? 😉

PMSL – well… edible but lacking in nutrients!
