I dread to think how many miles i did.

October 10, 2005 by

9.30 Arrive at vets, 6 miles south of our house, to drop the inaptly named Smartie off to have his masculinity removed.
10am Try to find a parking space in town, having driven back 4 miles into town.
10.15 Dash home to grab piriton and juice for Amelie.
10.30 Go a bit west to visit Mosque. Very excellent visit, more later.
12.15 Rush home, cook terrible lunch for kids, having invited Tammy and Sam back for lunch before remembering i have a) no food and b) Amelie has to be at nursery in 20 minutes.
12.45 Go 3 miles north to nursery and back.
2.00 Nip back into town to get some essentials. Accidentally end up in book shop, meet Jane and co while there.
4.00 Back to the top of town to collect Amelie.
4.45 Go back across town to take girls to gym, rush home, swap the car with max, pack 20 parcels while he collects girls, goes and gets the de-nadged Smartie (now in my blanket box 🙄 for a quiet night in recovering)
7.00 Drive 6 miles north and back to Sorting Office and back.

ARGH. Tomorrow i am STAYING HOME!!!!!!!!!

Sounds normal to my days :-). Living 8 miles out of town means we do lots of miles and back and forths. We did a travel survey earlier this year and it was alarming the miles we covered!

Goodness, do you really go in and out that much a lot? I’d go completely mental!

Blimey, that sounds madly busy and like it would do my head in. But you should try living miles from towns in North Yorks – wherever we go it’s alot of mileage and I have to try and be especially organised the days we do Leeds or go to Skipton singing and then to musical theatre afterwards in Harrogate – cos it’s too bad if I forget anything, we can’t go back!

hmm, I have days like that regularly. Although not having Start Right has helped! Then usually I get home only to get a call from Steve to say that this or that needs picking up *now* from Marsh Barton (an hour round trip). Such is life.

Its not so much the miles as the getting everyone in and out – plus it meant Josie got sleepy but not tired and so was up half the night!
