Blogger Day Out: It’s a rotten smelly life!

April 28, 2015 by

Last week Amelie, Josie and I had a lot of fun down at the Pineapple Dance Studios filming a dance routine to celebrate the release of the new Anni film on DVD. With a home full of keen dancers and divas, I had a feeling it would be a popular day out and I was not wrong. 😆 Pineapple, situated just off Covent Garden and with an atmosphere reminiscent of the Fame Academy, Amelie was in absolute heaven and I spent most of the day realising that my little girl now has the physique and poise of the dancers the choreographer had brought along to help him, rather than a child. Bit of a shocker really!

Our day was already nearly perfect from a snoop around Covent Garden and the shops so heading off to the workshop suddenly felt a bit daunting until I heard the dulcet tones of Jax from Making it Up ahead of me – a friend! And BREATHE! The girls of course got right into it, as did a fair few of the parents but I preferred to sit and chat for the most part. I did join in at the end but manage to be completely hidden behind Amelie for the whole thing! Anyway, it was great for both of them to join in something run by a professional (and really rather famous) choreographer, Richard Marcel, although Amelie seemed to take method acting a bit too far and not smile all the way though – I think even Josie was more smiley. 😯

Richard gave them really clear instructions and tailored the steps well to each age group – they worked hard as you can see from the video below.

Annie is a much loved classic in this house and the music probably sung daily so the new film has been eagerly awaited here (we missed it at the cinema). It stars Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz in an updated storyline version of the original.

Disclosure: we were invited to take part in the day. All views are our own.

It was a lovely surprise to see you, we really ought to arrange for it to happen more often 😉

Ah, we were invited to this one, but my girl was at school that day, which was a shame as it looks fun. We saw the new Annie movie at the weekend, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Glad you had a good day x
