Soothing Stitches: Crochet Bolster Cushion Cover

April 26, 2015 by

This is a quick one from a few months back. I’m currently deeply engaged in the Fritha Mandala, now on a second incarnation with some testers helping me prepare a pattern. I never did write this one up and I love it really so I thought I’d show it off. It lives in my living room (though it was supposed to be for my bed!) and has been perfect for propping up a sore back and arm on long crochet evenings.

A better shot in daylight. Really pleased with it but need to decide whether to cover the bolster before I seal the other end. (And if so, how to make a bolster cover)I used an edition of Simply Crochet for inspiration since it has a cushion and blanket in a series of fancy rows that suited the project perfectly. It’s done in Rowan Hand Knit (along with everything else at the moment, my stash of this is FAR too big!) and the most annoying thing (other than that I sealed up the ends while a little wine happy and they don’t match!) is that I ALWAYS forget how much it stretches and so it has now got too baggy. This is of course the perfect reason to undo it, remove a few rows and reseal it while fully sober – it’s on my list for next year. 😉
