Family Time.

January 3, 2015 by

We are all counting down to the return to school with dread; it has been such a joyful 2 weeks of family time and we don’t want it to end. At least 3/4 of the girls would happily not go back to school and I’m fighting the urge to agree to it. It used to look so simple from the inside of home ed – just leave, stop school, forget the system. I’m hating having to work a way back to it. I hate knowing some (most) of them will never go back to home ed.

I’ve had too much of a habit of wishing I lived in my spiritual home of Devon and because I can’t make that happen either, I’m letting too much time slip by.

Life is busy and hectic and often imperfect, but we all know  we need to make a bit more time for family time and snatch it when we can.

It’s been so lovely to just be together – no gym, no school, no work, no dashing about.

Getting up to date on recent youtubed gymnastics.

Less sibling angst.

Awwwwwww...... Found some pictures they took on my phone.

More silliness.

Out for a brisk walk with grampty.

Getting out and making the most of snippets of time.

I’m not going to promise or commit; there is nowhere to walk in glorious countryside around here without driving first. But I’m going to try to find some places to savour tiny moments, even if it is just a walk to the library or more time in the garden.

I totally get it. I know what you mean – the freedom of no school routine/after school activities/ looming homework…. it is quite blissful in a way. I have never home schooled but I can see the benefits of it for sure. Happy New Year. Love the photos of your kiddos.
