Too tight to try a tuff spot.

September 9, 2014 by

This is what happens when you are doing toddlers for the 5th time.

IMG_7029.JPG
The girls would have got a tuff spot. Bene gets a cat litter tray and a bag of soup beans.

I really wanted to be be good at toddler stuff this time round. I was going to be all messy play and letting our hair down.

But I’m rubbish. I hate mess. I’ve not got time to set up invitations to play.

Heigh ho.

Turns out a cat litter tray is quite fun anyway.

It could be worse… I am sure there were times that mine played with *actual* cat litter >:O

I think a cat litter tray sounds awesome! Nice to hear that someone else struggles with messy play – I detest how much of my life involves picking up hard play doh x

I’m rubbish at it, although Bene is much more receptive to these things than the girls were. With them it was always a load of effort for 2 minutes play and 2 hours sorting out the mess afterwards.

That did make me smile. I bought a tuff spot and we hardly ever use it and I stress endlessly about where to put it. A cat litter tray sounds a lot easier

It’s storing it that puts me off tbh. I would just hexagons of dead grass.

Mine used to play with the actual litter, you got off lightly

My tuff spot spent the last year in the garden doing nothing. Only in the last couple of weeks did I chuck some sand & toys on to it!

      I feel better already 😉

Does it make you feel better to know that I have no idea what a tuff spot is, and I’m on my first toddler? And I don’t really do messy play either, that’s what nursery is for. Instead, I give my Bean the a water spray bottle and a cloth, and he’ll set about cleaning the cupboards for hours!

I’m like you Eline – no idea what a tuff spot is! I was thinking that it was an annoying stain, but then couldn’t relate that to trays of soup beans.
I’m very glad that no2 loves drawing and craft, but also glad that she seems happy enough with gluesticks and scissors, rather than play dough or glitter.
