I forget to post about Bene and how he’s growing up. He’s the centre of the universe here, doted on by all of us, never unattended, never alone or left to his own devices. He’s fitted right in like the last piece of the jigsaw.
But I’ve not remembered to keep a tally of what he’s like. So May is for Bene, lots of posts about a sassy little chap who has the Puddle world revolving around him.
Currently he is all about jigsaws.
He’s discovered his parents own a toy shop. He thinks that’s rather good, especially as we sell cars, trucks and jigsaws.
This week it is all about jigsaws. I’ve never had a child so obsessed with them so young. He can do, patiently, methodically and using shape and pictures, a 25 piece jigsaw already. I think that’s quite amazing.
I love this little clip of him putting the last pieces into an Orchard Toys puzzle he had done himself. I’ve never seen the girls do a jigsaw so methodically and logically and with such patience. I loved watching him look and think and fathom out from shape and picture. It seemed like a moment worth capturing.

Yes! My now 12yo son was like this with puzzles, and while his older siblings liked them too, he was particularly good at them, from a very young age. Later that talent translated itself to numbers and music and languages.
I do love this age! So many changes, so much delightful growth and interaction with their little worlds 🙂

I’m so glad that my 4 year old shares my love of puzzles. There are some fabulous ones available these days too aren’t there.
