A school day birthday, early morning presents and a more rushed tea time than expected mean I haven’t managed to get a single picture of the newly 14 year old Maddy.
I’ll settle for the artwork she brought home from school today.
I love this. The girl who used to weep on our art etc days because she wasn’t as good as the kids we worked with (who drew constantly and have a huge skill) as blossomed in school art classes. It was really hard for her to let go and believe in her abilities. But she really is beginning to.
Happy birthday Maddy. Marvellous, magical, mysterious, musical, mostly mellow Maddy. Oh how I love you. Watching you grow up is an utter joy. You are so talented, so beautiful, so gentle, interesting, funny, an gorgeous all the way through.
And I love that you’ve just dashed past the door at 9.50pm to go and feed the rabbits on a blustery, wet night because you never let them down and you just couldn’t let them wait till morning for the food.
We adore you.
