Last holiday, my girls spent an awful lot of their holiday knee deep in streams.
It’s an appealing way to spend a week or two, there is no doubt about it.
They had even more fun, most of them, sailing tiny yoghurt pot lids filled with smurfs down the leat that runs across the cottage garden. Jam lids, spread boxes, you name it – all of it became a boat. It’s the thing they are most looking forward to doing again this year.
We’ve got good history with boats, sailing away on imaginary vessels to a different world. Josie and I made paper boats one year; it is still the most popular post on the blog. Maddy will still craft a quick boat from anything if the mood takes her, so shge didn’t need much persuading to do this one for the new Center Parcs challenge.
If it will go in the car, it will make it down to Devon next week, so keep a look out for it on Instagram… otherwise we will have to make a few more!
Why not join in with this months Sail Away challenge from Center Parcs and the Tots 100. You could win yourself a holiday there just like we had recently – and if you do, try the watersports… the girls had a ball in the canoes 🙂
Disclosure: We are a 2013 Center Parcs blog family and this post forms part of our commitment to them and their scheme in return for our holiday. All views are our own and we really made the boat.

My children went in the Brook for the first time ever this summer and they loved it! Now a yoghurt pot boat sounds a fantastic idea and I bet they would really love that – think I might squeeze it in next week, thank you for the inspiration.
