A New Beginning Looms

May 25, 2013 by

Having rather looked forward to celebrating PoPs 10th birthday, I was in a forest with not much signal for the big day. So belatedly, aside from the rather fetching new look I gave the blog last week, I bought I should say 'happy 10th birthday, little blog of minThey've grown up rather. Lot, those Puddle Girls of mine

They've grown up rather a lot, those Puddle Chicks of mine. And now, more than 10 years after first writing about our educational journey as home educators, things are changing.
Four little girls have grown up and been joined by two little boys, one who stayed and one who didn't. And now, my home educated girls are flying the nest. Fran and Amelie have already gone to school, Maddy joins them in two weeks time and Josie may well be there by the end of this year too, quite possibly in just a few weeks.
It's a big change, for us, for them and for my blog. It's a big question for me, another huge shift in my lifestyle and role. I'm going to be home alone with a little boy in just a few weeks, I'm going to be back in the business more like full time, I'm going to have to be a different type of mummy for Bene, because my working wage is needed again. It's a huge shift.
But who knows what it will bring. I wonder what the next ten years of blogging will bring. Perhaps ill have time to blog more of the things we make and do gain. Perhaps I will get round to rebuilding MuddlePuddle as Bene grows and learns and develops. Perhaps I will get time to make and do and write as I would like to.
I can see some positives. I certainly will keep blogging. It will be different. I'm wistful. I'm sad. I'm a little excited. I'm apprehensive for Josie and Bene. One thing for sure, the blog won't be a home educating blog any more. Perhaps I can start using my time to prepare special things to do with the girls and Bene in our family time.
Anyway. Thank you for being here. Thank you for reading. Thank you for the support when I needed it and the friendship when I couldn't have made it without you. Thank you to the people who have been here week in and out and commented and encouraged and not minded that I don't get to blog the way I used to.
Say hello 🙂 Happy PoP Blog Birthday to you too:)

Happy Birthday Puddles. I have found many answers for HE here over the years. I have laughed and cried with you, even when I haven’t left a comment and you have (without knowing) encouraged me to start my own blog. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. Here’s to a new era xx.
