Halloween 2012

November 2, 2012 by

The Halloween costumes the girls created were probably the best they had ever done – and one advantage for me was I’m now very much a credit card facilitator of the whole thin; I don’t have to make! Fran and Amelie both adapted an idea from Pinterest. Fran had 10 metres of black netting from Suzie May who was spectacularly quick and Amelie had 4 metres. The skirts were really easy. A belt of elastic and then long strips of netting, doubled and looped over the elastic and pulled through themselves to secure them to the best. Fran did a long, medium and short length and Amelie did long and medium. The both had a spare half metre for a veil.

The woman in black. Or Fran, as she is more often known ;) #halloween
Fran being the woman in black. It was just too cold to only wear ballet leotard and be the black swan. She did dance in it though and it is just divine, looks completely amazing. She did also wear her Morgana cloak and looked terribly grown up.

Amelie as a corpse bride. One eye make up had washed off by then though!

Maddy’s werewolf outfit was awesome and only cost me a brown towel. All the slashes have werewolf skin stitched to the back 🙂

Josie reprising the vampire previously seen on Maddy.

I’m not sure how many years we’ve trick or treated with Kate and Madison now, longer than Madison has been around anyway. No Summer this year, it was just too wet for her to be out; we’ve actually never done it in the rain before. Bene slinged it and loved all the being out and stuff to look at. The vicar was giving out hot chocolate which he drank about half of! Then home for the obligatory fish and chips. Max stayed at home this year to rest his new eyes and we missed him a but but still had a great time.

The girls’ costumes are totally amazing. Can’t wait until I don’t have to do all the making but D took it easy on me this year. No rain here, lots of snow and everyone had to dress up in full winter gear over/under there costumes.

Love the woman in black – very gothic! We have some brilliant fabric stalls nearby on Brixton market and nothing beats a few metres of netting for dressing up!
