A Weekend in 4×4 Photos

March 13, 2012 by

We had a lovely weekend. When we got to the end of of it I was able to send this tweet:-

“Crafting done, TKD belt earned, rugby played, PDF published, milk pumped, baby slinged and fed, walk had, knitting achieved. Good day.”

I thought that was fairly productive really.

Saturday was the normal round of dancing, with the added delight of a Babs visit. Loved having a friend here, even briefly. I’ve been far too reclusive the last few years. Fran came home from dancing with an outfit for her school production of Guys and Dolls. 😯

That finger picture was a glimpse of about 40 minutes when Ben would NOT let go of Max. It was very cute. He’s only just got the hang of grasping, suggesting to me he was really not a 37 weeker but a bit earlier, but oh boy he does it now. Hard to believe Josie was only just a week old at this many weeks since conception. 😆

On Sunday all the big three girls went off to a Sunday rugby tournament with Max to play with an emergent girls side. They had a ball. When they got back Maddy had a TKD grading, which she was very nervous about. She had practised her patterns solidly for weeks though and passed her red tag belt. I loved watching her, she looks so fit and confident. I’ve never watched a grading before.

While they were out Josie, Ben and I went out for a walk around my run circuit. We’ve been going out a bit like this and hopefully next week I am going to get back to a gentle run as I want to do the Race for Life in July.
That long road is to remind me that I need to get to it!

Josie loved collecting nature bits and bobs. The sling I have at the moment has a piece which holds it as a bag but wraps around the outside if you want extra support. It made a great impromptu nature bag.

It as a gorgeous day, really springlike. It occurred to me that daffodils don’t hurt this year and nor does the approach of April. I know Freddie’s birthday, now only a couple of weeks away, will sting but I can begin to see the possibility of Spring being a bittersweet but bearable reminder of him.

And here, because he is impossibly cute, is the best of Ben from the last few days.

I adore looking at little baby hats peeping out of the top of a sling like that!

Oh, just look at your gorgeous boy! I started to read your blog when Freddie was born, and can’t tell you how pleased I am to see Ben doing well, and to hear the tone of your posts gradually going up and up.
