Moondial Day

These are a few of my favourite things.

We had a family day out to Belton House, home of the Moondial. We’ve got a lot of fond memories of being there, it’s one of our haunts (and was even one of mine, as I had a school trip there once when I was about 9), but for all the obvious reasons, we’ve not been for a couple of years. Last time, Fran was still little enough for endless games of dens in and out of the bushes; this year she could only just bring herself to play. You could see how much she wanted to.

Still, it was a lovely day and every one of these photos is a happy memory and something special from the day. Sometimes, I think I can almost see them, perhaps us, reforming around the wound. I can see that we’re 7 becoming 6 again. It’s just all these days would be so much better if that wasn’t true. I wish I could put my hand on the Moondial, spin around and find myself back in time.

We love it there too. Looks like you had a lovely day out.

It’s great, a bt of an island in a rather bleak local landscape of decent places to go.

Glad you could have a “nice” day out with the girls. The tree (img_6959) looks like it could be a model for one of your projects.

P.S. I am so jealous of all the beautiful green grass.

Do you STILL have snow???? As for the tree, I must confess, I took it with the intention of turning it into a picture 🙂

This post gives me hope. Thank you for that.

There is hope Jenn, the good days have come faster recently and the bad times I can head off or ride better than in the past. It isn’t gone, nor should it be, but the feeling is (this week) more regret and sadness than overwhelming grief.
