Created a Hottie Cover

January 15, 2011 by

I finished something Hottie cover #1

Thanks to the knitting, I think I really have done something creative every day since I pledged to do so. Even if it has just been a thoughtful blog post, or a few lines of knitting, or a novel (!) or a model, I’ve created a lot and it has helped.

I’m really proud of this, my first proper followed pattern that I have actually got to the end of. I did do a plain back but otherwise it is just (just about) as it should be. Project complete.

The book is linked below – easy book, gives lots, with loads of patterns that could be easily adapted to other stuff (i think some will end up as squares!) I got it for Christmas and I can confidently predict that people will be getting hot water bottle covers for Xmas next year 😀

I totally want one of those. I love my hot water bottle for getting me through the monthly visitor (who is so unwelcome), for warming up my frozen bed and should I ever be pregnant again, for keeping my hips from seizing up. Too bad I can’t knit worth a damn, it doesn’t have crotchet patterns does it?

Cara, I will knit you one. I swear if I do, it’ll be finished right at the moment you don’t need it for your womb and it can move to your toes. Tell me what colours you like 🙂

how do you knit so fast!!! I’m a super super slow knitter (better at crochet) it takes me like 4 days to do 4 inches!!

I really don’t knit fast but I’m trying to make time to do some every day. One big square a week, one small square a week and some part of a project. It’s a discipline as much as anything else to be honest.
