Last weeks cloaks didn’t really have masses of time for me teaching dress making, seamstress-ing or costume design but Maddy did get a crash course in pinning, which will no doubt stand her in good stead at some point.
There was a very small amount of fun with this (if I’m honest not terribly good) craft kit from Hobbycraft.
Maddy made this completely brilliant little penguin all on her own, her own design and everything. I was out and was particularly impressed that she used a skill from the doll kit she did the other week and put beads in the bottom so it stands up nicely.
The card has a pop up central penguin inside and the following poem.
“Happy Birthday to you,
Penguins live in the zoo,
They live in Antarctica,
And they live with you too!”
I really love Maddy for her creative soul and generosity of spirit. She puts her whole heart into making gifts for her sisters. I don’t know what we would do without her.
Here is the wax resist pictures the girls did with Zoe when we first looked at Klee.
I love how much their art has improved through being with friends who have a little more natural patience and flair. It is one of those situations where I think supportive group learning has been a massive bonus.
We reprised it at Latinetc as a fill in craft (I say we, I mean Zoe!)
