Books and Doctors and Dentists, Oh My!!!

October 4, 2010 by

Last week. Hmmmm.

Amelie has been doing symmetry in her book as well as in Mathletics. Actually so has Maddy, along with 2D and 2D shapes and today, that annoying equation which has something to do with a triangle and a hippopotamus. And we’d have got there too, had I not failed to add up to 18 actually 🙄

Fran worked REALLY hard all last week and is being very dedicated. I’m impressed with her. Working hard at gym, at work, at music, at being kind and helpful and a good sister and daughter. Maddy is soldiering on with “trying” instead of “don’t try in case I get it wrong”. Amelie has been reading for England. Josie is obsessed with writing and words and I’m enjoying helping her explore them. She’s doing the same baby steps the older two did but I’m so much more relaxed now. If they can read, she will. It doesn’t matter when.

Tuesday we had a music lesson and I went to work and did several meaningful things 🙄 😆

We had a lovely Wednesday over with most of the Latinetc group and did some laid back science, some collage art and some Fimo. Fran did this:-

And there was much else Autumnal modelling….

Thursday was a highlight really, where we fitted in more than we’ve done in a day for more than six months nad made it through smiling. Nay, laughing in fact 😆

We joined the local library…

(I hate libraries, this was a big achievement!)

We ate cheap lunch out together.

We had photos done.

(There are also others, very lovely ones, go look!)

We had a bit of a row with a pharmacist who thought it was odd enough that I had been prescribed high dose folic acid while on a maternity exemption for a baby I had already had to question me about it in front of all the girls and the queue. 🙄

That particular episode prompted Fran to tell me quietly afterwards that it was all okay and if we had another baby, they would all like it and yes it would be scary but they wouldn’t mind. She shouldn’t have to be comforting her mum really 🙁

We also signed up with a new doctors surgery, following an encounter with one who told me I just needed to try harder to be happy about the children I did have and not look back for the one I don’t. 🙄 🙄 🙄

All this created some confusion as it meant we came home with much stuff, including lots of new books and some bottles to wee in. That night a very confused Amelie asked why we needed to wee in a bottle to join a library!!! 😆 😆

We took delivery of a book written by a dear friend and home educator.

I think we got ours by accident as it has not actually been released yet!

Friday we got lots of work done and had a gym lesson. Amelie could round off flic by the end of it 🙂

Saturday was a running around gym/ballet day and a fun shopping trip for me and Maddy. The Fran’s gym friend C came back to ours for a sleepover, which was lots of fun. She likes Hama Beads, so she was in good hands 😆

Sunday had much playing, a contact rugby match for Max and Maddy and much crafting, gaming and more for everyone else.

Yes, yes… clever. Dentists is tomorrow 😉

    big hugs

btw, I’m really curious – why do you hate libraries?

mamacrow – I have to confess I don’t quite know.

For a long time I heaved when I got library book smell after opening a page to find a persons pubes in it.

So I lost the love of pre-used books.

    I love owning books.

I forget to take them back and then go into flat melty spins over taking them back and getting told off and fined.

I decided it was time to get over it – and actually this one is quite pleasant.

Maddy I know exactly where you are, story of mylife.

Ive just got back from hospital after two back panic attacks, feeling like I was going to die, the doctor says ‘I am happy you are not dying’ and then left.

Life, it forces you to live it, kind of annoyingly.

    Bless you all.

That is the most disgusting book-related thing in the whole world. Ew.

I used to hate libraries because the one closest to us when I was a child was dark and badly-stocked and a bit scary and one was only allowed three books at a time.

I wish some of mine would soldier on with “trying” some of mine are ” don’t try”.. pleased for Maddy and you though!

re: Doctor and pharmasist… I think a lot of medical people have no people skills at all. 🙁

Hannah loathed library books almost as much as labels on get clothes and old socks with itchy bits. She hates the snell, she says thru feel greasy and it generally makes her feel icky. It makes it expensive !

    You found WHAT?! EWWWWWWWW! :O
that’s worse than finding years old marmite stains!

I’m addicted to libraries, and, handily, having known the children’s librarian since I was 3, she won’t let me pay any fines anyhow! 😀

I’m a librarian in fact (well I’m a SAHM at the mo, but that’s my degree and qualification I mean)

good luck with your ‘new’ library, hope it works out for you…
