Online Diabetes Survey.

September 1, 2009 by

I wouldn’t normally post such things but this survey has been put together by professor Joan Taylor, a researcher at De Montfort University, who happens to be my mother.

Since i was a little girl, she has been working on a brilliant pump, filled with a gel that holds Insulin, that releases it in response to blood sugar level changes.

In order to continue with this research, she needs 1000 responses to her survey. You can find out more at the University webpage and, if you are a diabetes sufferer, you can take the survey.

Please take the time to do this and forward it or post it as far and wide as you can. This is an amazing piece of research, now at working prototype stage and deserves to be able to continue. The survey will help that to happen.

M looked at it before but said it was far too involved and would take ages to complete and bed seemed a preferable option. I will suggest again he tries to find the time.

She has to get 1000 replies in order for some nhs/funding thing to go ahead – so if he can find the time, it would be great.

I passed it on to Bev, I hope she filled it in, am guessing she probably did. If she did, then she will probably pass on to some friends. Has your mum tried posting it on the Diabetes forums? If she pm’d a mod I am positive they would allow it.

Merry, I’ve now completed the survey. Just one question, when can I get one?

Haven’t been on the blog for a while and only just seen this – will do the survey – my youngest has type 1 D and we’re trying to get a pump for him (but no funding at the moment!)
