Manic Monday

October 6, 2008 by

*Managed to get all 3 children through music practise without any tears and all with considerable improvement.

*Managed to coax Fran through a history question that was producing tears; she’s not the best at unscrambling problems and HATES reading back to find comprehension answers, so a “put the dates with the statements” type question is her idea of hell. Funny really, for a girl who will do Sudoku for hours; eventually managed to persuade her that putting in the dates first, then making sense of the statements and just a quick check, would work. We had more tears, a handwriting/presentation tantrum and then she did it.

*Listened to Amelie read.

*Made sure Maddy read.

*All did some handwriting.

*Fran started the GP Science book.

*I read Junior History to Maddy, Amelie and Josie while Fran read War Horse. Lots on artefacts, using evidence to make guesses and then on to dinosaurs.

I also managed 2 hours at work, collected a hire car, took my second attempt at a letter to the post, made stew, tidied up a bit and negotiated my way round the gym run without enough seats in a hire car. Was quite impressed with myself really.

I suppose you have just got enough seats as long as Max doesn’t want to go anywhere with you …

(and well done on the music practice!)

We were given a 4 seater KA as a comp car when I totalled mine last year, handy when there are 5 of you, not!

Loves it and is competing at our Pboro gym on the 23rd Nov, floor, beam and vault. She is so excited 🙂

Good for her – hope it goes well – we are doing a floor and vault at Stevenage the week after.
