Oh and….

June 4, 2007 by

I think Josie has weaned. She hasn’t asked since Wednesday and during that time she has had lots of cuddles in bed with me, when i would normally get pestered constantly. She still cuddles and gropes a bit, but seems to have decided they are no longer for milk. In fact, i haven’t even heard her call them “milks” for a week. The couple of times she has got into bed and said “I want milk” she has then immediately said “i go get my bottle” so that is definitely what she wanted, not boob.

We’d kind of decided we’d use Max’s week off to make a concerted effort to distract her from it, but she seems to have done it on her own. That makes me very happy. 2 1/2 years of successful, painless, happy, ended on her own terms, extended breastfeeding. I’m a success. 🙂

That’s lovely Merry. But of course, it goes without saying you are a success, you don’t get to being a mum of 4 lovely girls like yours without being one 😉

Well, of course you are! With or without b/f!! Can’t help but be a weeny bit envious, with Shannon still insisting on being attached to the boob for an hour or more first thing in the morning, and every couple of hours during the day!
