Because i like the view

April 16, 2007 by

Although, in all honesty, i probably don’t need to. I never like big holes in the blog though, they bother me 😆

The big 3 had a great time away with Charlie, Claire and Bev. I heard lots of stories of garden playing, pirates that regenerated with every wound, plans for duets at camp and a variety of other tings and they all came home completely zonked. I recuperated MUCH more quickly than i expected to, which only goes to prove i think that looking after 4 children is pretty much as hard work as i want life to be! Josie and i did have a really lovely time together though and i hugely enjoyed the time i got with her; we played and cuddled lots, sat around indulging in silly games and junk food and generally had great bonding time. I’m going to miss her being a toddler desperately; every house should have at least one permanently naked squdgy bum in it really 😆

Was nice to briefly see the Beans on friday too and good to get some tidying done, though frankly i was too tired to do very much at all. I slept quite a lot throughout the weekend too.

Saturday was so gorgeous that we gardened, bbq-ed and generally had nice times together. It did involve a trip to the tip (AGAIN.. where does it all come from?) and some random bits of stuff, most of which i forget now.

Sunday we did more of the same, had an abortive trip to the garden Show over the back (as in walked there but refused to pay £6 each to get into an outdoor garden centre) and then played out on the green with bikes. Amelie was given next doors little bike and is really close to being able to ride it, so Max and i variously went out and helped her with that. All of them spent a lot of time socialising with friends from the street; socialising in Fran language appears to involve catching the attention of ALL the boys who then show off on their bikes in front of her while she fixes their ramps like some biker-girl who has never heard of feminism or equality 😕 😆 🙄 (To be fair, she hasn’t, but does she HAVE to be quite so subservient????)

Max and i spent a bit of time rewinding the recording of the Grand Prix in order to snigger at Max’s old housemate being on tv. He’s Massa’s engineer and it is DEEPLY odd to occasionally catch sight or sound of him on there. Rob was one of Max’s last “lad” friends, as he shared a house with me for his last uni year and never got the same opportunity 😉 , having shared with Rob in his second year. Rob and i utterly LOATHED each other, lol, so i can’t say i was terribly sorry to see the back of him, but it’s great to see how well he has done for himself. I imagine it is a life that suits him very well indeed! 😆

Fran opened a quilting kit on Sunday and has been working away at it. She’s done REALLY well with it and has finished one simple cushion and has now set off on a fairly complicated one she planned out as a presnet for a friend. Maddy opened an embroidery kit from the same range and has done some lovely stitiching of a little flower picture that she planned out herself.

So today we’ve got back to normals; Fran did some maths from MPH4B – decimals and fractions, then read some Worst Witch (she’s really enjoying Pippi Longstocking too) and did some sewing and some handwriting practise while Maddy got nearly to the end of Studydog, did some guitar and then set about a load of artifacts for a Fimo shop she wants to run. She made some very cute cardtoppers.

After that i downloaded High School Musical on to the ipod and they sang and danced to that for a while, while i took photos and generally enjoyed their company and we finished off with a simple counting in Arabic/guide to the Arab world book and a story about Mosque of Cordoba. By the time we’d done all that and talked our way round the various things that came up, T had arrived to play and have dinner – and that is how the rest of the evening has passed.

PS: As i’m rubbish at replying to emails, and people have asked, i’m loads better and against the odds actually feeling remarkably chilled out, happy and relaxed atm, so that’s good – and thanks to everyone who asked :)

lovely to hear you feeling brighter and having had time to really “spoil” Josie with all that fuss and attention. Oh, and I agree, every house should definitely ahve a toddler!
