(With apologies to Gill) 😉
I mentioned to Fran and Maddy on Saturday morning that since the weeks tended to be pretty full, i thought it might be useful if we spent a bit of time on Saturdays and Sundays reading together and carrying on with whatever project had been current. Predictably, that was therefore pretty much the last i saw of them for the weekend 😆
Friday night we had a wine soaked business meeting with Max’s dad; he’s hit upon and interesting little niche that Max and i are really interested in helping him with. Much googling, chatting, eating of nice things and eventually domain name buying (was one of those domain names you can’t really fail on!) ensued and it was all very pleasant. I kind of amuse myself these days, because even wine soaked, i can tell i’ve got a head that thinks in a reasonably intelligent and business-like way and what started with one idea ended up neatly packaged into something different which i think really might work. It is kind of fascinating to be able to see myself thinking in a series of steps that i could probably read in “Business ideas for Dummies” should the book be there to buy 😉
Anyway.
Saturday involved combinations of children going out with Max on present buying expeditions. As they’ve come home with at least one beautifully wrapped box and a succession of Lush freebies, i think someone must have heeded my suggestions 🙂 i actually can’t remember what else happened; i did loads of bonding with the little 2, we watched some films and all played Bomberman Generation a lot. Love that game, utterly excellent 🙂 Who needs a Wii 😕 when you’ve got Bomberman already 😆
Had a conversation with the big two at one point about school and En Famille, having decided i’d sound them out about both rather than get any sudden surprises i could have forseen. Both shook their head to school, Maddy looked at me like i’d gone mad and when asked if recent friend decisions made it sound more interesting, Fran just said “hm, i’ve not even really thought about it.” Oh well, fair enough 🙂 Told them about En Famille and Fran just said “Well, *I’m* not old enough in my head for that!” Maddy didn’t dignify it with a reply; guess it takes allsorts 🙂
We all sat around fimo-ing and watching Sound of Music for a good while too. Enjoyed that, plenty of singing while fiddling opportunities 😆
Sunday involved me going out and about, after a slow morning recovering from more nightmares. Hm. I’ve cut my pills in half and this seems to have been an instant reaction, i’d stopped having them. Not sure what to do about that really; they might take me down again, but on the other hand, i really DON’T want to spend the rest of my life chemically enhanced. Keep an eye on me, would you 🙂
I got out for a cycle, which was somewhat hampered by wind (of the weather variety), wobbly wheel, wanting a wee and water; not the easiest of cycles but i was glad i’d been and i got to try out my early b’day pressie of gloves (with flip over mitten top!) and scarf from Monsoon 🙂 Oh they know the way to my heart! Then Fran and i went out to a wedding fair (rubbish) Focus (expensive, why is there such a never-ending requirement for storage solutions?) and Tesco. Failed to buy scrapbooks but did get a nice project book thing for Fran, paintbrushes for varnishing and paper.
maddy and Amelie payed utterly beautifully all day at a game that used the pieces of a retro-boardgame called The Game of Dracula. Seemed mainly to involve telling off a naughty child and rotten blood but they just had such a nice time; Maddy chose to stay in rather than leave the game and Amelie’s face just lit up when she told me how much she’d loved playing with Maddy all day. Aw.
This week is filling up; clubs start back, my dad is coming down to discuss another business venture and the Northern birthday meet up looms. Plus BM is alarmingly busy; daily orders, while small in value, are at double the level they were before the Xmas rush started. Didn’t expect that at all. Lucy starts back this week too, so the house will get cleaned. Thank goodness for that.
Oh, and i’m in love with Del.icio.us too but i’ll wait till i’ve got my bookmarks up before i link to me 🙂 Tonight my blog should get upgraded too, so then i just need to decide how radically i change myself. Squeak.
Fran has just made her own porridge for the first time, Amelie didn’t moan about the were-rabbit thanks to a nightlight that looks like Barbie; all is well.

I DO want to spend the rest of my life chemically enhanced seeing as I can’t seem to function properly without! But nevertheless I hope it all settles down for you 🙂

I do ask ours about school occasionally – no enthusiasm at the moment. I would never even ask about En Famille as I would not be prepared to let them go – guess that’s the limit to my belief in autonomy! I have too many doubts about the vulnerability of a child of that age combined with the length of time away from home. I am too much of a worrier and can imagine too many awful scenarios. I’d be happy for them if they choose to go at sixteen or seventeen.

take it slow and easy with the chemical enhancement hey? It’s no fun doing the yo-yo thing of cutting back before you are ready, having to go back to full dose, cutting back….
Aw to girlies happily playing and enjoying each other’s company.
Big beaming smile to bigger girlies not wanting to leave you (see? you are obviously a WONDERFUL mummy!)
Adn wow to new business ideas and you being able to think straight let alone think smart when wine soaked!!!
