Like pulling teeth.

September 19, 2006 by

Is how it was today, ironic really as i wasv forced to make a dentist appt to have my root canal tooth looked at, as the back has snapped at the gum line and currently flaps about at anything up to 90 degrees from the rest of my tooth. Yum 🙁

Dunno what went wrong today really, it ought to have been fine, but somehow we all felt at odds with one another. BM is quiet (yikes, hate quiet!) so i only had a few parcels to do and was done really early. Both the big two spent a while on EC while i spent some time with Amelie. She wanted to do me a magic and dancing show… and she really went for it 🙄 Oh well, i got to sit down for quite a while anyway! 😆

Then the desktop went phut again and i have no idea why. Seems to be powering up just fine but the monitor just doesn’t come on and why is anyones guess really. I’m baffled this time. So then i couldn’t print any of the things i then suddenly needed to print, no one could blog/play etc etc and argh….. we need a decent computer :wall:

Maddy and i nearly came to blows over vertical addition with carrying, MPH books do NOT have as much practise in them as the 3rd edition and i could have used it for her today. After endless wailing and ranting she then suddenly sat down and completely got it and finished them flawlessly. Hm. Okay.

Fran threw a mental over being asked to apply herself to anything but eventually settled down to read Castle Diary with a bad grace but promptly got enthralled. She needs to be worked a bit harder, she is asking me stupid questions again. I won’t dwell on todays, i nearly lumped her 🙄 But she did do a load of multiplication again, easily sorting her way through the “difficult” tables, so i was slightly baffled really by the conversation in the ballet cloakroom between two teacher mums on how the 6’s, 7’s, 8’s and 9’s were impossible for their year 5 and 6 kids. Ho hum.

Mady and Amelie also spent agaes with some “pink word card material” – 3 letter words. How come Maddy can match them effortlessly to pictures, but won’t ‘read’ to me anymore? ARGH *clutches throat and stifles self then pins hands to seat with bottom*

We’ve had a craft and stories afternoon again, more India stories and plenty of Happymais (which i now have a flickr group for if anyone wants to join!) Bit more clay too, bit of this, bit of that.

We need a project. I’m bored.

My monitor was having issues too. Try to get another monitor and hook that up to see if its the computer or the monitor that’s the problem. My monitor was broke it turned out so I had to buy a new one. Hope you have a cheaper to fix problem.

Is there a problem with your video card or driver maybe? Does it go phut if you set it to a lower res? Does it work in safe mode? Computers are such a pain when they go wrong. Hope tomorrow is better.

Love the new BM site, it’s very attractive, and looks like it’s got a huge operation beind it.
