Tuesday and Wednesday

May 24, 2006 by

Tuesday, the birthday day, was very pleasant and mostly involved playing – school stories have half holidays for the heads birthday so surely a viable activity in an HE family has to be nothing on a child’s birthday? I have lovely photos of dinner out, which i’ll blog tomorrow, if i ever work out why flickr thinks it can’t connect from here anymore. Most noteable event was actually something family orientated; my mum, who has been a senior lecturer at her uni for some years, got promoted to Reader. I don’t understand university rankings, but on the basis that the secretaries appear to run the place and the more unassuming your role title, the more important you appear to be, that has to be good. Well done Mum/Granny 🙂

Wednesday – mainly characterised by fran getting 78/92 in maths (she made me count it up) and spending £60 or her £75 birthday money on DS games. How times have changed 😯 Need to get her set up AC-ing with some friends. We have visited one another and played tig in the sunset!

Must get back into proper blogging; have got strangely addicted to Big Brother, while shouting at them having issues with such mindless cruddy and unlifechanging stuff… eek.

Big Brother is certainly interesting this year! A huge amount of bullying already and interesting that BB is clamping down on it quite hard in some cases. My jaw is still dropping when they’re yelling and crying about not having their suitcases. WTF is that about?

For once I haven’t been watching BB … but I’m in tonight for some AC wifi if you fancy it. Tell me what fruit you still need? And is there anything else you want?

ah, now, white and orange furniture … you know that doesn’t refer to the colour of it itself but to the feng shui colour attributed to each item, don’t you?! Best place to look is here (example search for orange and white) to find out which item is which colour.

Will collect up some apples, cherries, and oranges for you too. Catch you online somewhere later then 😉 Am I really sad to actually be looking forward to this?!

    And – feng shui – argh…
