Explode the weeds.

Well, it’s tempting 😕

Another pleasant Puddle day here really. Yesterday Kate took Amelie out for skating as a belated birthday treat (i really should blog something meaningful about her turning 4… or even just update her cast photo 😳 ) and today it was Fran’s turn for some 1-2-1 time with someone else, which came in the form of Aunty S, max’s aunt, turning up and taking her out for a dog walking trip. Since “Lauren the puppy fairy” or whatever it was, Fran has been quietly pleading for a dog; it isn’t going to happen, but that is what doggy friendly Auntys are for 🙂 So she got an hour out being dragged along by Lucy the Jack Russell.

Maddy and Amelie were absorbed in Jolly Phonics videos which they love inexplicably (IMHO!) and Maddy did a fair bit of writing and drawing during that. Some time shortly after that Amelie got overwhelmed by having been up too late and fell asleep on the sofa to the sound of Dora, which was fine till Josie decided to wake her up. 👿 However, it had been enough of a pep-sleep to keep her going and she was much nicer all afternoon, having been royally disgusting most of the morning. Fran was busy on EC and then spent quite a bit of time trying to compose a poem about the Queen Birthday for some Milkshake/CBBC competition, which included writing it, actually with a pen ON PAPER! 😯

Maddy did loads of sums in whatever Singapore maths book it is she is on now and a load of Explode the Code Book 1 too. The we braved the showery weather and went to the allotment. Josie and Maddy fell asleep but Fran and Amelie helped me carry turf, cardboard and bricks to it and i laid the cardboard out on about a 1/3 of it and put down some strips of turf which will, i hope, take as paths to divide it up a bit. It is shockingly weedy, but they are all up for it this year, so hopefully we’ll actually get something worthwhile out of it this time round. All that fitted in nicely with Rainbows/Brownies, so now we are all pooped 🙂
