Shades of a different life.

April 3, 2006 by

The big girls are at a musical theatre week this week, so i have just the little two. Fran and Maddy were very excited this morning and could hardly wait to get going, though they sat and beaded for a while first. Dropped them off and they disappeared; Fran reported this afternoon that it went well but that Maddy got a bit tired and shy towards the end. I would imagine that a week of 5 hours a day will be something of an ordeal for her, however much fun it also is, so it will be interesting to see how she copes. Fingers crossed she does cope.

After dropping them, the little ones and i ducked off to the new house to harrass a 12 year old assistant site manager who was supposed to be telling us how everything work, but whose mum clearly still puts his pants in the airing cupboard for him and who certainly does not have to work out his own emersion heater. He was rubbish and i told him so! Nicely 😉 And once i’d sufficiently troubled him about drain covers, i went to Kate’s.

It was incredibly strange only having the younger two; oddly, it really was easier and pleasant to have time to spend properly with Ams. It is a long time since i’ve felt like the mum of toddlers, not a home educator milking every event for all the value i can get, and today i did. It was oddly liberating. I felt kind of younger! I do hope Amelie won’t end up resenting the time she never got just with me, but i think she might. I’ll be the cause of counselling sessions, no doubt 😕

Midway through the day Josie came out in spots on her face, but not pox and i’ve just realised with horror we might have taken pox to Kate and S. Oh bugger, bugger, bugger 🙁 other than that, we played in the park and then i came home to SmartStamp my parcels – i’ve just got back from the PO to find another 16 orders that have totted up since i finished packing late yesterday! ROFL! It’s like Christmas! i am so looking forward to moving and being better set up; i’d struggle to work at this pace longterm in the conditions i;’m working in.

Anyway, rest of the week shaping up nicely, but i am going to make time to do nice things with Ams as she is a bit horrid atm, mainly utterly ignoring anything she’s asked to do, which is making me respond badly back.

Maddy has written out a pledge of learning to read (bless!) and Fran has just finished the first Stardust book and pronounced it better than Rainbow Fairies! Grin, thank gods for that….

And now i have some pretty patterns and new mixes to put on BM, so i must go and work out how to do them…..

I spent the morning child free! Really bizarre when just at home. I have plans though.

To rebuild my own life! All the knocks I have taken over the past year have made me realise I have let myself and my needs go. All those thoughts and ideas and dreams in my head are going to start getting used. Feels really postive after the baby stop.
