It's a mean green mumma from outer space.

February 8, 2006 by

i woke up at 3am this morning and coughed till 6.30. Then i fell asleep, bolt upright, till 7.15 when max came in to wake me up for my busy day 🙁 I do not like this cold 🙁 I can’t really take anything for the cough, because it is wavering between “dry and annoying” and “i’m trying to dislodge something nasty in your chest that is going to make you really sick” so i feel i have to put up with coughing. I’m really scared of getting another chest infection like the two i had at the end of The year of the Tonsil, that was just too awful for anything. But i’m afraid i have caved in and taken some codeine this afternoon just to take the edge off the cough-reflex; it is just constant. Bleurgh.

Despite everything, we managed to get everyone, bathed, brushed and pretty, to Olan Mills for the 2nd sitting. They had a ball again and he took some very nice pictures. My favourite is a sort of Charlie’s Angel pose which is very funny. Maddy has one of her on her own and there is a great one of Amelie running towards the camera; yet another gorgeous one of Fran. She loves being photographed and does perform rather well for it. 🙄

We’ve had visitors all afternoon, bringing Maddy presents and also bringing Max’s new second cousin, mini “Violet” who we hadn’t got round to meeting yet. And everyone has played lots, computed lots, babyworshipped, Fran has practised skipping and read her Brownie Badge Book. Amelie is getting into Zoombinis.

Urgle, blurgle, cough, splutter.

It is a four sitting package – if you have a child under 5, i think it is, you get 4 sittings, 3 months apart with a free 8*10 at each one. Then they make their money back by trying to sell you more, which they succeed at doing!

OT: I’d like to add your A Typical HE Day to our Carnival of Unschooling tomorrow. Let me know if you would prefer not to have it included.

    thx

(((Merry))) hope you’re feeling better soon. It’s obviously a day for Little Shop of Horrors, I keep getting the FEED ME! dialogue in my head everytime Ned gets near (perhaps I should’ve called him Audrey!)

That’s nothing Sarah. When we had SB, Helen got extra ‘bounty bags’ with extra vouchers for a simialr sort of scheme. We had loads of photos done with SB, they either didn’t care or didn’t notice, but we went enough that they recognised us in the street 🙂
