BBC NEWS | Education | Teacher power beyond school gates
i can’t see there being any requirement for parents AT ALL soon. I know my school did consider that if we were in uniform we were ambassadors, but even there, where parents were paying for the privilege of us being made to have our socks pulled up at all times, i think they usually called in parents if we misbehaved off school premises.
There was a notable exception where a boy got expelled for being found to have been selling dope at a party but i seem to remember that was done on the basis he had broken the law, not been antisocial on a pavement.

Can’t help but wnder if it may just be better to sort out the source of the lack of respect etc rather than giving reachers the “power” to punish it.
