BBC NEWS | Business | HSBC sees bird flu hitting staff

Of all the tabloidy headlines – the story isn’t really even remotely what the headline says!

Stupid headline, but I think most large organisations have plans for what to do in all eventualities, and bird flu is one of them. I know at least some universities are preparing plans for similar sorts of events (people working from home, the place being shut down for weeks, etc). After all if the epidemic does occur, the most effective prevention will be isolation, so it only seems sensible to me. My plan is to only talk to people via the internet – should be ok there then 😉

I remember C saying, and yes absolutely the story is fine. Headline does sort of suggest that they actually got it though!

I really must start stockpiling beans and bottled water….
