The last essential Xmas present has been bought, i’m done. Its ALL DONE! Hurrah!

Lovely morning, all curled up on our bed playing with a tiny version of “Shut the Box” which came as a freebie in another parcel. Fran and Maddy liked it a lot and even Amelie had a good go. Was most impressed with Amelie’s numeracy anyway. Wonder where she learned all that?

I’ve signed up to the free trial of Education City – Amelie is doing the reception maths, Fran and maddy are dotting about the maths from Yrs 1-4 and Fran is doing various science bits. I quite like it, though to be honest i do wish someone would bring back Einstein Online as the format of that suited Fran very well. Does Ed City change at all – or is it just the same stuff all the time, does anyone know? Not sure if we’ll sign up yet; maybe, we need some new software really as all ours is a bit tired now, so perhaps if the deal is good enough.

Maddy and i went and cleared out my store and sung along to Xmas carols, then i went into town to finish off bits and bobs, which was surprisingly pleasant. Virtually no Xmas stuff left at all – i think shops toned down a lot this year, it all seems far less in your face somehow. Enjoyed a bookfest in Oxfam and managed to pick up a batch of kids classics, plus a few bits for tiny pressies.

Girls have watched A Christmas Carol, now they gone out shopping for presents for me 🙄 – i got annoyed as Max and i had an agreement to share the buying of a recordable dvd player, then he changed his mind and decided we’d just get bits from the girls to each other. I got no say in this for some reason, which annoyed me deeply, so refused to take part in the buying of mindless tat and have just got him what i wanted to get him in the first place. Grrrr. 🙄

Anyway, plenty of festive cheer available, now Maddy has stopped throwing up 🙄 and all is well. I took Amelie ot the panto last night calpoled up as she was hot, thinknig she’d recover. She didn’t, she got hotter and hotter and i’d forgotten the inhaler and the dry ice made her wheeze. St John’s aren’t allowed to carry them but offered her coke as it has some anti-asthma ingredient(!! wtf???) Great, loads of help, though bless them for trying. I do despair of this country sometimes – no we can’t carry a life saving drug in case we kill someone with it. Marvellous (and yes i do know it COULD kill someone, but it’s far more likely to save someone.) Anyway, she progressively flaked further and further out on my lap and meanwhile Maddy the sugar addict (where she gets it from i don’t know 😉 ) secretly pigged the whole packet of chocs i had bought for all four of us to share. So it served her right to throw up in bed really. Pink sick.

But Amelie is better today, after a night of me obsessively checking her for black splodges on her body. Phew. Even the 12 doses of Ventolin didn’t kill her.

Josie has a new word; she points at my laptop and say “cue-ter” over and over again. Think she knows that one then! And a new game too; put Teletubbies in the toilet and then shut the lid so no one knows you’ve done it!! 😆

Merry Christmas 😉

I think it’s a heart stimulant – or something. You can overdose on it if you spray it directly on to your tongue and ingest it; it makes your heart race horribly. And it’s used to halt premature labour, so it’s obviously something fairly powerful. I guess you can do yourself a mischief with too much of anything.

But if you end up with a nebuliser you get either 25 or 50 dose equivalents of an inhaler in one hit. (as a nebuliser it’s better directed to the lungs than with a straight inhaler)

Hope Amelie’s back to normal now.

BTW – don’t sign up for Ed City until you’ve had your many free trials! I think they gave us three in the end, buy which time kids were bored of it anyway.

    Have a super Christmas!
