Drowning under parcels

November 19, 2005 by

*Shriek* Just unpacked an 8 box delivery and i’m snowed under. I’ve got 30 parcels to pack back up and all the new lines to list. Feeling quite energised by business; Xmas always a good time to get motivated 🙂 Wanted to say will do a “£1 off per kit over costing £9.50” offer for anyone i’ll be seeing in a couple of weeks, just in case that inspires anyone to get back to hama-ing.

Not done a lot else today; Fran has a dramatised version of LWW on the iPod – laughed today when i bellowed “Fran is there any reason why you are ignoring your sister??!?!?!?!?!?!???!” and then realised she had ear plugs in! 😆 It’s quite a good version, i listened to some of it last night. Like it better than the narrated one.

Just been out and bought the girls nice clothes from John Lewis and H&M’s for their portrait. Not often they get pretties, such tomboys don’t deserve them but they’ve got nice skirts and tops now. Not quite so pleased with Amelie’s but they’ll do. Picked up a pile of cheap sketch books from The Works too to encourage Maddy to get back to drawing. Her eczema is worse, worse than Amelie’s at the moment. Not really being helped by her complete freak out attack if she has any moisturising cream on it (she walks around stiff armed and legged so she doesn’t feel it touch the rest of her skin 🙁 )

Josie is on the mend, just enjoying a nice top-lip-lickingly snotty cold. Yum yum yum yum……

There are photos’s on Flickr from our science morning – my fave is definitely this one

DSCF2422

which just worked so well as an experiment, showing the bubbles in the carbonated water gathering round the raisin and lifting it up.

DSCF2420

Also this one, showing water climbing up through the sugar, before dissolving it.

Really must sort out a new camera, this one is deeply broken.

EDIT: 30012 words. 3/5 of the way there with 1/3 of the time left. I don’t think i’ve ever been so on target with anything in my life! 😆

Those experiments are excellent. Which book did you/Tammy use?

It’s an American version of the Pocket Scientist books you can get from Usborne here.

Eczema in my family is at an all time high at the moment. For me the cold dry weather really affects me. Cream isn’t really nice is it (especially when it’s cold), even though it helps. Which one do you use?
Love the experiment photos, am on the hunt for sugar cubes…but how do you stop the kids munching them?!!!

Don’t mind me – found them! Just goes to show how UNfamiliar I am with that new shop, which I know isn’t new really any more. So if I put an order in I can have it at Okehampton?

yes but hang on a bit – i’ve got about 6 new ones to upload tomorrow 🙂 Would be fab if you did though – i’m cacking myself at the amount i’ve bought in. Even knowing they are selling fast isn’t keeping me calm!
