Full Fledged Brownie

September 22, 2005 by

A Gnome, to be specific. Aaah, she made me proud; did her promise, in front of 40 people, beautifully clear and intelligible, without a stutter or a hint of the speech difficulties she’s combated. I was so proud of her, she looked and sounded, adorable. I love her in her uniform, with her hair up in bunches. She looks great. And she learned it all on her own, without any help from me at all.

Other than that, today has been a washout. We went ingredient shopping first thing, then S came round. Its her last day with us, she goes back to school next week 🙁 We’ll miss her very much. She’s been not only a great help, but a real friend to the girls.

A huge bead delivery arrived, the girls all helped mark it off, count it and carry it upstairs; Fran was in charge downstairs and i was very impressed by the grip she has on small business organisation 😉 (better than me!)

Then i did 4 million parcels of out of stock bits and bobs, there by clearing the decks of more mind numbing crud. Feel flat over BM at the moment, think this Xmas will be the end of it in its current incarnation. I had lots of plans for it but i just have no time to implement them and i want to spend more time on the girls – i think its time for it to come to a close really. If i could just get Josie sleeping, it would only take a few decent evenings being inspired to get me more enthusiastic, but she just is the baby who doesn’t sleep. Hmmm.

Josie does in fact sleep about 90 minutes between 8am and 10pm most days. She’s still up now, bouncing and she’ll be up several times in the night. I dunno, i thoguht i had children sussed, i’ve managed to have everyone else sleeping by this age from 7pm to 7am, albeit with a few wake-ups. I’ve got a changling here i think, she’s totally different.

On the other hand, she can stand up unsupported and practises all day, she climbs the stairs like a whippet, she’s started waving today and two days ago she finally cracked rolling over. Guess the crib will have to come down at the weekend then 🙁 I shall miss that crib very much. Oh and her current sound is “tickle tickle tickle”.
