Flag Fen was good, kids all seem to have enjoyed it. Fran pronounced it “brilliant” and has unveiled plans to be an archaeologist. Wouldn’t surprise me, i can quite see it. Though she’d have to be better at filing and order than i’m likely to be able to teach her!
They all seemed to enjoy the Roman Road remains, the roundhouses, the bits and bobs to look at and learn about. Maddy liked the models, Amelie liked the running around.
We all enjoyed meeting Carol and Clan (and mooting about life in Devon, more co-incidences there) and spending some more time with Tammy and Sam. Excellent to have an actual archaeologist on hand 😉
So plenty of food for thought there, everyone seems fairly inspired to learn a little more about those ages, i’m wondering if it could be time to start Story of the World.
Fran impressed me yet again this morning with her ExTC and maths. Its great to see her feeling inclined to stretch her brain and today i was impressed to see that something she “learned” ages ago had actually gone in, i didn’t have to remind her how to do a type of sum. She also got a first taste of data graphs and loved them, so it might be fun to make some up. Still finding some elements of units, tens and hundreds a bit complicated for some reason.
Still, feels positive atm. Maddy seemed reasonably alive today and i have a plan for her i am hoping she’ll like. Amelie learned to rolypoly today and is terribly pleased with herself. Fran has added handstand-to-unintentional-crab to her gymnastics repetoire!
I’ve crossed off my longest ignored job – very pleased with myself. i’m also really enjoying reading Narnia and HP1 to them, its great to be really dipping into books i love now.
