Ankle biter, knee biter, nail biter.

August 4, 2005 by

Its less than 2 weeks since Josie started crawling; today she has been happily exploring the downstairs, into any corner she chooses, pulling herself up on furniture and, while stood in front of me holding my hands, took a very firm step forwards. Hm.

First thing, Fran and Maddy sat together doing their Explode the Code; Fran is somewhat disturbed by how quickly Maddy is getting the hang of that and its really spurred her on. An unintentional, but somewhat pleasing side effect of the whole thing. Its perfect for Maddy but she is so good at following formulas that i will have to make sure she actually learns the words as well as cracking the puzzles!

That done, we headed into town, with Js as back-up. I needed to open the kids some bank accounts; one to pay in the trust fund we cashed, that was Maddy’s, a Trust Fund for Josie and an account for Ams. What is left over from buying the laptop is being shared between Maddy and Amelie – when Fran’s fund come out, in 4 years, we’ll share it all out equally and keep topping up. Its money my dad put aside for the first two; we can’t afford to take over both but decided the laptop was a good investment and would improve resources and flexibility all round. *Justify, justify ;)*

That done, we went book shopping and got some Oxford Reading Tree stage 7 and 8 for Fran to read in the car (B2G1F in Waterstones) and some Sudoko for me and the girls (thought it might help my logic skills!) then on to the toyshop where they had elected to spend pocket money. Fran bought a SF camping set, Maddy a couple of half price Beanies and i treated Ams to the same.

The afternoon was spent sorting their room and the early evening doing a group housework blitz, incorporating a hunt for clothes for Ammi and Josie from the storage crates. Ammi is too tall for dresses Maddy wore last summer!?!?!!?

This evening i’m making a music cd for the girls (i SO love iTunes!) and Fran has just scared herself listening to HDM, Northern Lights. You can’t tell some people 😉
