Human Beans is killing each other much quicker than the giants is doing it.

July 12, 2005 by

For those who have read The BFG, the line above will perhaps ring some bells. Enough to say that tonights chapter was not lost on Fran who saw the parallels between humans who make rules that suit themselves and the “London Blasts” (she calls them this cos it was the BBC24 headline and she could read it.) I find the news this evening slightly mindbending really. How extraordinary for it to be apparently so quickly “traceable” – i think i’ve been reading too much Feist – i’ve got double bluffs and spy ring infiltrations on the brain. lol.

Today we all overslept terribly, so the taxi driver had banged on the door while Maddy and i were still snuggled up in bed. Tyre was flat, so had to get her in it; it was the fastest breakfasted and dressed girl i have ever achieved!

Morning is a slight blur – i think i tidied the kitchen, Kate came over, the girls played with Js. Then i think Js gave Josie a bath and while i fed Josie, Js got out some “All About Me” booklets she had made for all 3 girls. This girl is great – they were all individually drawn and coloured in, full of really nice stuff. I was most impressed and very touched that she had gone to so much effort. Girls were delighted with them.

Max came home to change the wheel (no one get all antsy on me, its too heavy, i couldn’t do it if i tried, even if i hadn’t got endless chiddlers to be watching over) and Fran and i put the majority of the Saxons and Viking kings into place. She is so thrilled with this project and it strikes me as perfect that in a few days time, not only will she have a broad sweep of “modern Britain’s” history but from then on, whenever she uses the timeline, she’ll have some idea of what was happening in Britain at the time. Darn sight better than i ever had.

I’d intended getting them to dancing, but it was too hot so, given it was just final prep for an exam they’ll be away for anyway, we gave it a miss. Instead i took them all into nursery to collect Maddy and we had an extended outdoor play there. I got Maddy to take Ammi around the garden and show her all her favourite things. when they’d finished, Maddy said “I’ve given nursery to Amelie now” – i nearly howled! Came home, filled the paddling pool and while Fran and Amelie played in it, Maddy and i had a little chat about how she felt about HE. I asked her what she would miss about nursery and she said “Dave the Duck” so we agreed we would have an “at home Dave the Duck”- she and i are going to go and get a notebook for a duck we have several of and keep a little Maddy and Dave Diary. Wondered if i could combine it with an MP Duck-Blog-athon so that her Dave appeared to go off on occasional jaunts. Photos stream currently showing Maddy’s flower pictures 😀

Earlier in the day i had also chatted to Fran about how it was going to be important to make Maddy feel part of our HEing ways now – had to smile; Fran suggested maybe she could help Maddy with her letters and went off and drew up some worksheets for her! And bless her, Maddy did them!

Right, i am now going to moan graphically about my period, so anyone squeamish, bored by such things or who prefers it to be referred to as Auntie Flo, should look away now. Moan will be in the next post, password will be moan. Moan is definitely appropriate.
