Fruitful.. but mellowness somewhat shattered.

July 7, 2005 by

Do feel the need to preface this with an apology to Tammy 😀 Sorry my dear!!!!

Day started with me getting up early to help Fran make a few more twiddle necklaces, (all now sent out to anyone who still wanted one by post i think!) Tammy took them to her NCT group where she professes to have sold several, although i am still not quite sure if she didn’t fake it to save Fran’s feelings. Either way, Fran was highly delighted with her haul of cash. Then our new beads arrived in the post so we sorted out the crud from the bead basket and filled it with new and lovely stuff which went down a treat. Not quite sure what happened after that, Fran surfed some more, Ammi has had Lego out a lot, Maddy was doing some sort of storyboard picture i think. She and i learned “Good Sleep?” in BSL, Josie was sleepy and snotty after a rough night last night. She was so bunged up and chesty that she was having to cough to breathe out and went quite purple at one point, which mildly unnerved me.

Js arrived and we sat down to lots of colouring (Ammi LOVES to colour and does it so beautifully too, she calls it her work 😀 ) plus various other bits and bobs. Fran was doing pages out of the Pocohontas Colouring Book that Sally sent us a few weeks ago and equally making a big effort with it, she has never really been into colouring at all, Maddy was doing dot-to-dots and read a Peter and Jane to me. At some point we heard the news which dampened the day somewhat. Fran was depressingly wearied by it really, her question “Don’t these people think?” was terribly sad to me 🙁 Struggling to summon up the courage to take them to Edinburgh next week a bit now, Max thinks i’m stupid to worry, i probably am. 🙁 Feel really angry that its happened just when i was really getting things a bit more in perspective.

Anyway, we roused ourselves to accompany Tammy and Sam to the Pick Your Own where we had a fabulous time picking Blackcurrants, Raspberries and Strawberries and also bought some Tayberries which are really nice, taste like wine. Mmmm…. a perfect fruit for Layla perhaps? 😉 Then i left Tammy with the big two, so she could take them back to our house and i took Ammi to her nursery introduction, which predictably she loved.

And on the way home Tammy rang to say she had set off our burgler alarm and when i got back, to the sight of neighbours running for ear plugs, sobbing children and a vaguely hysterical Tammy , i realised i had given her the wrong code. Ummm… oooops 😀

Rainbows and Brownies tonight, plus a waily baby, to nicely set off the list angst i have been creating/smoothing today. Oh how i love discussing educational philosiophy with stupid bints on email lists… “chill dude indeed…” baaaaaah humbug.
