… learn to ride my bike without stabilisers.”
So said Fran today, out of the blue. Its been quite a long time since she rode her bike and last time she did she was adamant she wasn’t ready for two-wheeled-ness. However, we obliged and took them off, pootled off to the park and within 10 minutes she was going solo. Within an hour she was confident and competent. Its good this child-led lifestyle innit 😀
I’ve not blogged for days. Hm. Friday we had AWorld, which was lovely – another new family and something in the region of 30 kids. Not bad really. All my lot were stupidly tired to the extent that all of them managed to be reduced to tears by a 4 year old *rolls eyes at daughters.* Seemed perfectly harmless as children go, so i don’t know quite what the issue was really. Sorry to the mum in question who kept having to chill him out anyway 🙁 Fran somewhat astounded me by blushing and doing a silly wave acxross the carpark at J: sometime later she came to tell me that she and J have decided to become boyfriend and girlfriend. *no, to be honest, i can’t even decide what to put between the asterisks* Oh well, he’s a nice boy.
Saturday: Started out with really good intentions to go to Peterborough Environment Week and the Allotment but it was SOOOOOO cold. So we settled for a 4 player Mario Kart tournament instead! The girls also spent quite a while grouped around a pegboard for stretching elastic bands over (and have done more of that today as well) and then went out for a walk with Daddy in the afternoon while i had a bit of peace and quiet, added some stuff to BM (yee gads i need a busy week!), pootled about a bit and communed with Josie. We read a bit more Pocohontas 9its got to the abduction bit now) tidied their room etc etc.
Sunday: Scoubied a bit, Mario Karted a bit, Max wnet into work and sorted out roof bars for the car, had lunch together, the girls and i went to buy replacement tomatos for the ones i killed, a globe, an ant world and visited the allotment – took one look at the re-emerging thistles and came home! Must fit it in this week somehow! Did do some weeding and planting here though; tomorrow we are going to gather some ants from the nest in the compost (that is so fascinating, its the most amazing structure) and hopefully use the globe with a book that arrived in my freebie Sonlight package this week. At least this time is free books i never find time to use… *rolls eyes*
Josie has learned to do the crazy frog noisy with lips and fingers, very amusing and has the most hilarious belly laugh.
I’ve GOT to orgo plan – i really, really need to…..
