Hastily changing plans.

April 20, 2005 by

Really wanted to go to the allotment today but it was SO COLD here (nearly put freezing but as i happen to know it was 8C that would be overstating it a bit i suppose) so we had to change plans. J was here, so it was a good opportunity to potter and do more “stuff” with the big two, although it didn’t seem to quite work out like that as Josie was quite keen to feed and everyone else quite keen to play.

However, Fran did some Zoombinis, us having failed to load the new Jump Ahead game – it installed fine then told me i had the wrong disk? Eh? She enjoyed Zoombinis anyway, so that was good. Maddy was watching, Ammi was playing – my, the Happy Street is popular at the moment. Overheard Ammi asking J “Are you got married? Who is your King? Do you love your king? Your king at work like my daddy? My daddy a boy!”

Josie had a bath – can’t get a photo of the truly gorgeous curls she has on top of her head but here is a smiley photo anyway.

I love that baby. She gave me a proper kiss today, leaned in and got me with slop and tongues. Bless. Ammi got one too – “Josie kiss me on my moufth!”

I had a bit of a plan at the beginning of the week that we’d try and do a lot of drawing this week and see if some changes occurred and they have – Maddy is very resistant to trying anything but stick people but i love her detailed little drawings:

This is a variety of stick men cartoons telling a story, a defacement of my tree to make everything in the picture have faces and then some illustrations of her favourite Hans christian Anderson cartoon, The Little Fir Tree.

Fran drew her own Faraway Tree story in a set of pictures and then *drum roll* wrote out some of the story! Wow! Had an interesting “tenses” conversation – she insisted on putting “is” into her story having explained very clearly that using “was” would mean they had already been then when she read it out she realised that “is” didn’t sound right at all – felt like one of those “HE moments” where it all just happens. Its been a good week for that type of thing.

Most of the late afternoon was taken up with “Bead Delivery Sums” – always a perfect opportunity for a bit of practical maths/business studies. BeadMerrily is really going well – April is generally a quiet month and this year it WAS quieter than Feb/March relatively speaking – but i still had to order nearly double the amount of stock i’ve ever ordered before. Feeling very excited about that. Got some new products in today which i’ll upload later, its great to feel i can risk holding extra lines now.

So here are a few of the recent hama creations for you – one is Fran’s attempt to copy her Rainbows badge, i love Maddy’s circles and her rabbit.

And to finish – a slightly emotional moment (for me AND Fran) – Fran reading Ammi a bedtime story, Chicken Licken.
