We’ve just been to a birthday party, for the little girl who is the grand-daughter of our next door neighbour. For a chage, we all went, rather than one staying at home for a break and it was really nice to be out. We didn’t really expect to know anyone but as it turned out max knew a work colleague so he was happy. And then i got chatting to the chap who lives opposite us (who naturally we have therefore never spoken to!) and it turns out that his little boy is 5 days older than Ammi (another potential minion for the Princess of Darkness…) and that he (the Dad) was home educated and went to Summerhill. It was all very interesting. I do like it when you meet interesting, normal (but pleasantly ‘different’ iyswim?) HE’d adults – its so reassuring.
Rest of the day has been fairly meaningless – visited the newly rotivated allotment, weeded the half of the garden that still needed doing ready to put down weed control felt and stand pots on, took Fran to Toys R Us to waste £8 of pocket money on Polly Pocket stuff… easy come, easy go. Was quite nice not to care whether she was wasting “my” money or not!
Heigh ho.
