Apologies to Sarah, although its her fault, the song has been in my head all day.
It’s been a quick and easy sort of a day here; my TT (temporary teenager :~D) was here and she entertained Amelie all day and variously Fran and Maddy too. That left me free to tidy up, get washing done etc etc – more-or-less anyway – Josie has been very hungry today so i’ve been feeding her a lot. But the house feels tolerable anyway, so tomorrow should be a nice day. We’ve got various things on over the weekend and then on Monday i’m knuckling down to a bit of hard work for everyone for a while. Even if its going to be hard, i feel that “maternity leave” needs to be over now for everyones sake. I think we’re all starting to go slightly mad and the summer is shaping up to be really busy so its not going to pan out like last years did. We’ve got 7 or 8 weeks till HESFES and i want it to be productive.
There are some things that need to change around here: i need to spend more time with Max, i need to spend some time in the evenings getting things ready for the girls to do, i need to be doing stuff by earlier in the day, some stuff needs to go away/go permanently, i need to have a clearer route in my head of where each girl will go. I’ll have the LEA on me about Maddy shortly, i want to be ready for them. So stand back for some orgo-planning – lets face it, this blog is a more interesting read when i do it – mundane has not been the word recently :~/
Maddy was just a joy to watch today. She sat working her way through Bear and Penguin maths again – i set her back to the first level just in case she got overwhelmed as i was busy but i got drawn to watching. I just loved the way she had unerring methods and systems for each game. The best bit when she counted up 14 objects then called me in “because it goes up to hard numbers for the answer and i can’t do them”. Maddy has long had a phobia about 13 but given she knew it was 14, i was slightly baffled. I got her to do to ten, then i helped her count to 14 then asked her how she had known there were 14 things? She gave me this look then suddenly her face broke into a smile as she realized she could do it after all!!! I’ll move her up a level tomorrow i think. She also got all the bits together to make a guitar tomorrow and made a Egyptian necklace.
Fran did Bear and Penguin reading, on level 3 but pronounced it “too easy” and it was. Oh well. Not value for money but good anyway! She also made a necklace but frankly excelled herself today by having a screaming, hair pulling tantrum which ended with me frogmarching her to bed where she promptly fell asleep. Not used to that sort of tantrum from Fran, i think she’s been taking lessons!!!!! Must have been tired *rolls eyes*
Anyway, expect some orgo-planning later.
