Ups, Downs and Bumps-a-daisy!

March 4, 2005 by

Funny old day.

Started by rushing out to Speech Therapy; now, i’d gone off this a bit, mainly cos we never seem to do much, but partly because the SALT, who we have known since the day Fran was born, seemed quite dubious about HE and made me feel a bit irritated last time we were there. Which was a shame, because she really has been entirely part of Fran’s life and a tower of strength at times.

So today was quite a change; new venue for a start, Fran got a big thumbs up: all the sounds are there, just a bit sloppy. She seemed over all to be delighted with her ableness. Hugely more positive on the HE front, for both Fran and Maddy (in whom she was briefly involved) and much less pro-school, pro-NC. So really, that was great and i came away feeling hugely happy and knowing that i can keep doing what i’m doing really.

Dropped off some beads (and bumped the side of the car – ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!), went for a cuppa at Auntie Kate’s to provide tea and sympathy (makes a change for it to be me doing that for her really!) then off to Activity World for a play with lots of HE’d kids. No idea if the kids like each other but the mummies are getting to know each other nicely :~D

Then home to a mammoth Bead Delivery, a parcel from Jules full of lovely clothes at a very reasonable price ;~) and a big parcelling session. Now – relaxation time methinks. If Amelie ever stops her mammoth tantrum….
