Oom.. pom..pom!

February 21, 2005 by

Fran spent much of the day on this very handsome set of gentlemen.

Now, interestingly, or interestingly for me anyway, these are the pieces for a board game she is devising, the rules of which are unclear, except in her head. But she is clearly thinking a lot about it. She has done a couple of things today which have REALLY reminded me of myself from when i was about 7-12 ish – to be utterly consumed by a creation of this sort of a thing is one of them. The other was, while wearing her pink skirt, to suddenly say “I feel more grown up, its something about how i am walking, i don’t feel quite like i did yesterday.” My girl is growing up.

Actually, she had a good day, very absorbed, enjoying being allowed to lift Josie and carry her about (that child is HUGE!!!!!), playing with the TT in order to entertain Ammi, doing some great reading and writing too. One thing about her reading really encourages me. Although her word bank is still a bit small, she reads with really good expression, not stilted at all. I do think its a good indicator that its going to come through. I did make an appointment with her SALT today as the lisp is getting more and more pronounced, the SALT happened to ring, so i decided to go in for an opinion in a couple of weeks. Slightly baffled by it.

Maddy was at nursery but had a lovely day and when she got back she seemed to have a great time wth us all. She too is looking grown up, that J-Lo bottom is something else, she was looking super cool in cords today.

Ammi loved our TT – played all day and seemed very happy with the attention she got. So that worked well. I got loads done and feel much clearer and more relaxed. TT fitted in great, helps that she is HE’d of course and being with us fits in nicely with a course she is doing, so that works well. I obviously can’t have help all the time but a day is good. Plus, the early indications from the new BM are good, roughly double my normal daily orders today anyway. This week is normally quiet anyway, so actually that is an even better sign. So if that continues, i’ll be able to afford (and need!) help anyway.

Josie is chatting away and waving her arms – i can’t believe she is nearly 16 weeks, and still fully breastfed too. Finally, i’m a success.
