Next week we WILL do something useful.

February 18, 2005 by

First of all, a couple of book references for Nic and someone else. Can’t remember who though!

Come Look with Me – that art book…

All the Tales from the Ark – the Noah Book.

Actually, i’ve not got the first one, it was Alexia’s. I do like it but i have a fair few resource books atm!!!!

I’ve been chanting Alison’s gentle admonishment (?) to myself today – “I knew it was going to get tough, i knew it was going to get tough…” – you’ve got to love having a friend who’ll tell it like it is sometimes :~) Actually, knowing i’ll have a slightly clearer day next week has sorted my head out a bit and more got done generally the last two days. Not housework really but some jobs and some work. Kids are fending for themselves but doing okay. I think we needed a wind down week anyway.

I’ve decided to get some science going over the weekend to bumpstart me for the week, so i’ll have a look at my Saturday Science plans later. Must get back to the boxes, the Egypt stuff, all Fran’s interests – oh i bloody wish they’d all get good at reading!!!!!!

Anyway, today has been easy. Big kids room tidy, The Return of Jafar then round to Muhammads for a play. Where i got treated to spiced tea and samosas :~) Yum. Kids all had fun and i got a little book of Islamic Childrens stories to borrow. Mainly for me really, i’m endlessly fascinated by the way these traditions diversified.

Fran made me laugh the other day. I was reading her something and started to explain what a sceptre was. She said “I know, Maggie and the Fericious Beast had one!!!” and later when i started to explain patchwork, she said “Oh, like in Little Bill!!” Heigh ho. She wants to have a go at patchwork but i think i’ll put her off too many unfinished (unstarted) projects right now. Saying that, she’s really got the hang of French Knitting and Maddy is not bad at real knitting. She can’t quite grasp holding it all but if i sit round her and help, she certainly knows what to do.

I’ve just read them the first burgess Bird Book story and we all liked it, so that is good.

Josie is looking very pale and a bit hot – it may be the cold or is it pox?

Right, off to do “stuff” – BM needs my attention and only i can do it! The world has gone Hama crazy – my orders have tripled over the last 2 days!
