New Toys and old rope.

January 10, 2005 by

The new toy being my DYMO label printer which is going to be the “new and efficient face” of BeadMerrily. A shocking amount of fun. Old rope is Fran’s writing; she’s a grown up, she can do joined up, “go away and stop teaching me mummy, i just want to PRACTISE!!!”

My new student started today and brought her little girl – so much Barbie, Pony, Sylvannian Family play went on. Josie has been awake all day, Maddy went very happily off to nursery with her new escort. A much improved arrangement. I’ve been feeling a bit spacy all day really so although lots of Geomags, workbooky stuff, reading, computer games etc has gone on, its been a bit bleary. Fran played World Explorer and spent ages on the “gods” page of her 3rd grade leappad book. I might get a book of those to read after we finish our Bible. What i really want is a book that is something along the lines of “The Usborne Book of Muslim/Hindu/Sikh Spiritual Stories” – we have simple narrative Bibles, it must be possible to get the same for other cultures? (While i’m on the subject of Greeks, while i was in town the other day i saw a brand of condoms called “Trojan” – is secret penetration of your last line of defence really an image you want to conjure up when relying on condoms??? I mean, is it me????)

We’ve read more Roger McGough tonight – Everything Touches” i think it was called… beautiful poem. The girls loved it. Then they all went off to bed and spent a happy couple of hours doing jigsaws together. They really can be delightful at times :~D
