And then we had lunch… and it was "nice."

January 5, 2005 by

Grin… old joke now.

I’m SO proud of myself for today. I’m not sure quite how it happened but everythng worked. Well, actually, Kate turned up so i was up and about and not using the computer from early on, before 9 anyway.

Kate came, went and came back so in the intervening time i decided to do some normals; mindful of my maddy worries, i decided i would try to do her first and it worked great. She did some JP with me, lovely “s'” and “a”‘s and then wrote her name using her new “a.” Then we started the CGP reception Maths book and she was great at that, then she read me the first Bob book, still knew it but sounded all the words out to me. So i guess she definitely knows m, s, a and t then. She is very resistant to being “shown” but she is keen to be part of all that, i’m hoping it will continue.

Fran came next and did fractions, some good writing, joined up “ai”‘s and some words using them, the Flying Boot book from before Xmas (almost perfectly) – all in good part and cheerfully. The 20p thing was dropped when the caravan was bought and never came back. She just does it now.

Then she did Rainbow Art with Kate and Amelie while Maddy and i baked cakes. So i managed two bits of 1-2-1 time with Moo today! And then i made playdough (after achieving a hot lunch too!) and that occupied them all for most of the afternoon, so despite the very early bit of the day involving HCA videos again, it all went pretty well. They listened to more HCA during the playdough session too, i like it when they do that, it keeps the activity much more peaceful and argument free.

Maddy and Josie had a bath together and Josie really loved it – she did that stretched out froggy wallowy thing they do when it stops being scary for them. Even better, i’ve just succeeded in getting Josie to take 3oz of EBM so i am really pleased about that, might well get to the CP spa afterall. So thank you jan for the ISIS bit, its been fab. I’d never have got that much hand expressing.

Off to read some Ethelred, Spike and Enid now. I love days like this.
