Tis the season to be jolly…

December 20, 2004 by

Struggling to find anything original or dynamic to say at the moment. Quite depressing not to have a single Blog Award nomination! Ah well…. we all have our talents in different areas!

Someone else has my weather. I want the sun back – amazingly it appears to be JOYCE who has my weather. Its blooming freezing here.

Hope you like the decorations though, Tim made them, admittedly, but i managed to put them up. (Oh, alright, alright, Jax had to help me do that too… okay??????? But i think i have the measure of WP now at least.)

Had a house inspection this morning from a very nice and easy going bloke, so much nicer to have male inspectors. We used to have a really prim (very nice but prim) woman doing them and i always felt compelled to have a show home. Anyway, that is that over for 6 months and as it meant we cleaned the carpets, it all feels quite nice.

After that we shot out for lunch with Auntie Kate; rather lovely to see S so happily sat up and putting some food into her own mouth. Its such a long haul for them but today was pretty special to see her listening to my kids, drumming her heels and making some very conversational sounding noises. Its a pretty unbelievable thing to have that little girl in my life. She reminds me of so much that i have, not least ot have her mum as my friend, someone who knows she can probably never risk having another baby, someone who has to cope day in and out with profound disability and hardship, someone who has to cope with giving so much and getting so little back and yet does it all with a smile and is always able to see the good in everything. Not least she is so utterly unbitter towards people like me and quite honestly, i don’t know how she does it. She deserves a bigger salute than i could ever give her.

We all went off to see Santa after that. Very proud of my girls, not only did they remember their manners beautifully but the sum total of their requests were a magic set, a cindella dress and a pink Barbie (Ammi asked that herself!) all things fortunately i can forsee Santa providing. I think Santa’s eyes nearly popped out, i’m guessing he is used to rather grander requests!

A nice relative had sent some Xmas money so they chose two DVDs – Shrek 2 and Princess and the Pauper – so taste and tat really. And then home for endless watching, while i did the second to last night of parcels. After tomorrow, i am closed! Yeay!

Maddy was asking today how the stars and planets stayed up in the sky. She listened really hard to my muffled explanation and then asked if there was air on the moon. Which i tried to explain and she replied with “so if you tried to breathe in you wouldn’t be able to then?” which i thought quite clever of her. I’m dying for her to develop “interests” – maybe we can do a bit of Solar Systeming in thr New Year. Although, she wants to do morte nursery so not really sure WHAT will happen. Have sorted a new transport arrangement for her to try though.

Faintly concerned now though as i happened to get a call from the HV today – asked her about my bleeding and gave her a few more detaisl than i put here and was astonished to get “erm.. you need to see the doctor. Please can you make an appointment tomorrow.” So now i really AM wondering if my scar is bleeding :~/

Ho hum.
