What larks…

December 9, 2004 by

So far, its been a really nice week. (Just had to go and check on the blog it hadn’t included shouty days!) Considering i unexpectedly no longer had midweek company and help, there has been peace and tranquility pretty much the whole time.

Today just went really nicely. Fran made a heap of hama stockings to put on family christmas cards, Maddy did a lovely Father Christmas, Amelie played really happily with us plus joined hama-ing and so on. I did the basics of the MP cards so the girls could do the sticking bit and they made quite a lot of those. Josie has been starving all afternoon so i had to feed her lots. I put her into medium wraps last night, the newborn has gone. :~/ She smiles loads now. But today, my favourite bit of the day was when she did this!

Fran made a card for her Rainbows tutor.

It included a really nicely written greeting and envelope. Deeply chuffed i was and so was she. Maddy can start after Xmas; i’ll go for a few weeks to support her but joy of joys (not getting caught out twice after the speech/teasing disaster of last year) they already have another Aspergers girl, who i spotted at the disco last year, so the teacher was familiar with the concept. I think with just a little bit of settling in, Maddy should be fine.

On the way home Maddy found and eye in the car so when we got home she made this.

Recognise him? I thought he was great!!!!

Amelie is hugely into numbers, shapes, letters and colours at the moment – suddenly realised why her learning this is such a novelty; its because she is vocalising her learning and understanding of them. Neither of the other two could talk when they learnt colours or shapes so it was all the odd word and poointing, so its incredibly weird to hear it being said and practised. I adore her. She drives me nuts, but i adore her.

One slight bugger is the car seems to have some problem – not sure what yet, a strange intermittent steam or possibly smoke issue that we can’t figure out, which has slightly spoiled the day. Grumble….
