Named and legit.

December 7, 2004 by

Had Josie named today – at least we registered her. Always a bit of a family occasion, we all went except Maddy, who was at nursery. We were supposed to be getting Fran renamed too as she was born before we married (5 weeks before but our honeymoon was during the 6th week so she had to be done earler.) Belatedly discovered this meant Max didn’t actually have parental responsibility for her, so arranged to do a job lot. Except we couldn’t because Royal Mail helpfully didn’t deliver my recorded delivery marriage certificate. So now we have to go back.

Rest of the day was taken up in Xmas shopping and parcels for me (yeay, i’ve finished the kids shopping!) and a trip to the lake for the girls with Max. Some essay writing is going on about that as they found a heron, a woodpecker hole and various other things. Fran did a load of lovely writing and stuff, Ammi was horrifically cheeky all day and ended up going to bed in disgrace for a deliberate disc-slipping kick into Max’s back, Moo went to nursery, Josie wore her first outfit. And she and i slept in the dark for the first time last night, no night light at all and she slept from 12 till 8am.

Finished off the day by watching Fran and Maddy in their tap class. God save me from the irritating brat who clearly attended the private school (i can say that i guess since i probably WAS that child!) Its the last time i worry about my “socially inadequate” home educated kids anyway. What is with all the arm-in-the-air “pick me, pick me” stuff? URGH.

Girls were great though, very brave considering they had to do one bit on their own each. Fran looks like it will be very her thing, Maddy looked a tad nonplussed admittedly. Must remember to teach them left from right….
