First full day.

Thought i should start counting firsts! So today was the first day Max did a whole day at work, so although i had Zoe here, i was sort of more in charge. We did good.

Josie seems quite happy to sleep in the early morning, so i started off with a few jobs; got a week of washing put away and over the course of the day managed to wash and put away the other 3 loads too. Which meant i could get my room straight again, largely involving chucking out huge quantities of “Bounty Bag” marketing crap. Sorted out the BBC coming, next friday (am i MAD??????) and even neatened up the resources shelf a bit. Now all this couldn’t have got done without Zoe around but since she was here, i thought i might as well try to get straight. I might last a few more days that way.

Zoe was a star as usual, having turned up with Pudsey biscuit making materials and she and the girls worked a production line at those all morning. It seemed a very seamless and industrious business so i left them to it!!!!! Ams looked very cute doing the icing but i’ll have to do photos when the pooter is a bit more sorted out. Later on in the afternoon they started weeding the flower bed to plant bulbs but didn’t get very far due to rain stopping play so hopefully that will get done tomorrow.

Otherwise, Fran did her “normals” which i have started putting in a basket for her so she can find them easily and do them when it suits her. Obviously the way to encourage a spurt of ability is to do a low level gripe on the blog because today her writing was fab and she read me two new reading books, really sussing out new words for herself, doing much less guessing and spotting her own mistakes. We are actively using the Flying Boot books now for variety and for more of a “story” – Bob is getting a bit predictable! – and she is doing really well. The next challenge there is getting to grips with digraphs, she seems to find letter blends a bit of a mystery; i ought to do something intelligent with them but i want a LIST of them so i don’t have to think about it and i can’t find one! lol… lazy bugger you see….

I’ve got a feeling that is about it. Oh yes, apart from a very nice HV coming today – i was most surprised that Josie had lost a good bit of weight and is now only 8lbs 3oz given her greedy nature but i think she is quite active so i suppose that that combined with the 1st 24hours not really feeding and the fact she didn’t manage to poo at all before they weighed her (unlike Amelie who virtually drowned the operating theatre in black gunge!) probably accounts for it. She seems very healthy anyway so i’m not worried. I thought she was fatter! But what would i know!?!?!

Haven’t cried all day. That must be good.
