Bit of a mixture.

Just blogging quickly at what looks like the end of a long sleep from Josie. I’ve been a bit wobbly today, probably triggered last night by suddenly discovering Josie had chewed a lump out of me. My confidence over breastfeeding is a bit slim; feeding Maddy was a nightmare but feeding Ammi was a relative dream, even if it doesn’t come very naturally to me, perhaps due to my size and shape. But with Ammi i never so much as had a sore spot, so to suddenly have lost my perfect streak there sent me a bit off kilter. Max rushed to my aid and went out for Kamillosan and cabbage and its not got any worse anyway. Maybe Josie has given me a break by sleeping for so long; nice girl :~) I also “slinged” her for the first time today which was truly lovely, great to be doing that again. And did my first nappy wash… lol.. little landmarks. I’m not quite as together as i was, but 5 days in is probably a typically weepy day or something, but i did get 2 good chunks of sleep last night, 2 lots of 3 hours with only a quick wake up in the middle. Must blog all this, its my last chance to do a baby diary so i want to remember it. We’ve decided to call it quits at 4, i don’t think either of us can face going through all that again. I’ve put years on Max with all these sections. I can’t believe she is 5 days old already.

Girls had a nice day. Max and Zoe took them to Snowbabies and then out to our local garden centre/ pet centre/ ridiculous Xmas bonanza place. Always popular, plus they got a trip to a playground. When they got back Zoe did Xmas crafts with them – they are going to fill a crate with decorations over the next few weeks ready to decorate this nice big house with. I’m looking forward to it. Our last 4 Xmas’s (including the one we are about to have) will all have been in different houses – i loath that about renting – part of the fun of xmas for me is putting out the same things in the same place each year. But its nice to have made stuff too, so we shall concentrate on that this year.

They all seem a bit more relaxed today and have played nicely. Maddy is doing lots of dressing as a Princess Bride – Ammi’s role is to come and “kiss her awake with true love” which she does beautifully and with feeling. She has dramatic potential that girl, you mark my words ;~) They enjoyed having Zoe about and Max and i are managing to keep things trotting along, its going to be another 2 weeks before he is fully back at work – he’ll start doing some half days later next week i think. I’ve managed to keep BM open too which i am pleased about as i have worked hard on that over the last year and i can’t afford to let it slide this close to Xmas.

Fran is keen to get back to some “work” so i am hopefully going to start our CM reading again tonight as well as finishing off (and you could read THAT many ways i can assure you!) the dishonourable Amelia Jane. We have The Magic Faraway Tree next, plus i managed to pick up a rather handy book of poems called The Works 3 last Thursday night when Max and i went into town to try and kickstart me going into labour (which worked!) its aimed at KS1 and its a poem a day and a poet a week for a year – good poems too, a real mixture of classic and modern. Looking forward to adding that in to things.

(PS – i’m not “not emailing” but ntl is down for outward bound mail so i can receive but not send)
